Exhibition data shows that Japan has a very high dependence on foreign energy, with major energy sources like oil and natural gas relying heavily on imports. To address this challenge, increasing domestic energy self-sufficiency has become a national strategic goal, with renewable energy recognized as the most effective solution.
Taisei Sangyo: Hydrogen Energy Enters Daily Life
At this exhibition, Taisei Sangyo Co., Ltd. showcased its hydrogen-powered specific small moped product. Using hydrogen as its power source, the vehicle has a maximum speed of under 20 km/h, and drivers aged 16 and above can use it without a driver's license, perfectly matching daily short-distance travel needs.
In an interview, the President of Taisei Sangyo stated: "We hope to contribute to Japan's decarbonization using our technology. If we can reduce CO2 emissions in household life or achieve zero emissions, it will greatly help achieve carbon neutrality goals. Our vision is to create a society with zero CO2 emissions."
Wide Prospects for Hydrogen Energy Applications
This hydrogen-powered moped is equipped with an advanced hydrogen fuel cell power system, offering approximately double the range compared to previous lithium battery-powered models. Additionally, the exhibition showcased household hydrogen energy equipment such as hydrogen stoves, demonstrating the vast potential for flexible hydrogen energy applications in daily life.
